My Next Accountability Group Will Be.....

I cannot wait to start my next group! I have been hearing all of this great stuff about Shaun T, and he has a great sports training workout series called Asylum.

Why It Works

Recent studies show:
  • A typical exercise program can help you lose 5 pounds in 30 days.
  • A typical diet can help you lose 8 pounds in 30 days.
  • People completing INSANITY: THE ASYLUM's LOCKDOWN lost an average of 18 pounds in just 30 days and up to an extraordinary 30 pounds.*†
With INSANITY: THE ASYLUM's LOCKDOWN plan you'll burn up to a thousand calories per workout, follow a revolutionary meal plan designed to optimize fat loss, and have legendary trainer Shaun T with you every step of the way to keep you committed to achieving your INSANE WEIGHT-LOSS goals.
Will it be challenging? Sure. But you can do anything for 30 days. And that's all it will take for THE ASYLUM's LOCKDOWN plan to get you in the best shape of your life

The Asylum is a 30 day program, a great way to get you into the habit of working out, and it is tailor made for athletes, which is great for runners!

The set comes comes with everything you need for 3 payments of $19.95

OR you can get it via On Demand for just $2.99 per week, which is billed quarterly, $38.87 for 3 months! Best part? The first month is FREE! You will need to provide your own jump rope and ladder  (or tape on the floor works as well) but everything you need is On Demand, including all of the printables that are available when you order the set.

The group starts on September 21, which gives you plenty of time to decide which option you want. I will have a PRIVATE facebook group for us to hang out in, swap war stories, and get motivation. How do you join? Purchase either of the two options (my Coach ID, should they ask, is 761682) and let me know you want to join. I will invite you to the group (we will have to be facebook friends for that part) and we can all start getting to know each other.
I keep the group small, so get on board before space runs out!

Who will I see in the Asylum?

Sunday Musings

An ad from 2008 by Pearl Izumi is making the rounds again. It kind of gets my goat a little bit. No, a lot. So I am sharing. They issued a statement today that is half apology, half not so much, which was interesting.

Skirt Sports Boobie Run Virtual Race

I love a good Virtual Race. Especially one with swag involved.
What is a virtual race?
A Virtual Race is a race that you do on your own time, at your own pace, at your own convenience. There is usually a set distance and the dates that they would like you to race. It is a great way for you to get your training miles in! Virtual races are great for walkers, new runners, seasoned runners, fast runners, slow runners, and even injured runners who are riding their bicycles!
Skirt sports hosts several virtual races each year, each with their own unique twist.
Check out the event page here!

The Boobie Run is being held to celebrate 11 years of Skirt Sports awesomeness, as well as promote the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month. You can run an 8k or 8 miles (or bike 8 miles, like me!) Now here is the best part! The cost of the Boobie Run is $60. Your registration gets you a printable bib and a $70 gift certificate to purchase the sports bra of your choice! Yes, you read that correctly! Skirt Sports is basically paying you to run their race! How amazing is that?
Check out the sports bras here!

If you live in Colorado, Skirt Sports is hosting the race at their headquarters. The details are on the event page. The rest of us can do it wherever we please, and as close to September 12th as we can. I will be biking my 8 miles on that Saturday morning (with a possible break at our local Farmer's Market.)
So, what are you waiting for?
A discount code maybe?
Well, today is your lucky day!
Use my Ambassador Code to get 20% off your registration!

Where will you run your Boobie Run Virtual race?

Thursday Training Update

This week I began 21 Day Fix. The workouts are new and challenging and I am about 90% on plan with the Eating Plan. I am also loving that I can use the workouts with Beachbody on Demand, which means I can take them with me wherever there is a wifi connection!
Win win!
My workouts for the last week have been:

Saturday: beach yoga for an hour, which I rode my bike to and from, about 2 miles round trip

Sunday: I was being super lazy since the Fix started the next day. I also ate a lot. 30 minute dog walk and 30 minute beach walk.

Monday: Total Body Cardio Fix and a 40 minute dog walk

Tuesday: Upper Body Fix and a 60 minute walk. In my living room. Because I needed steps. I miss running.

Wednesday: Lower Body Fix, lots of whining about being sore from Upper Body Fix, and that's about it. I imagine that I will be sore from Lower as well. Ouchie. All the squats and lunges.

I am looking foreward to more 21 Day Fix and adding in some PiYo again as well. This week I start working and I have 3 different very part time gigs babysitting princesses and pups, so it will be some juggling.
I am ready for the juggling thanks to my planner!

Rock n Roll Brooklyn Half Runner Swag

I am addicted to Rock n Roll races. I think I've done at least one a year for the last few years. This year I am registered for 3!
I've already completed DC. In the rain. With plantar fasciitis.
I will be doing Philly on Halloween.
Up next, however, is Brooklyn.

How great is that shirt and bling?
When a friend of mine found out that I was running it, she sent me this:

It is so comfy! She sent  a bracelet as well. I have the.best.friends.

So. In addition to the awesome shirt and tee, I get bonus bling because it's my 2nd race in 2015.
It's called the double beat, on the bottom right. When I finish Philly I get the Rock Trio, top center. After Philly, I also get a bonus jacket and another bonus bling.....

All this, plus super organized races, great race support, and an awesome expo. Why wouldn't you run one of their races?
I should probably mention here that I am NOT a Rockin Blogger, nor do I get anything for this post. I really just love this race series.
I am hoping to run Dublin in 2016. How about you?
